Getting to the Start Line

Hi, Iā€™m Jodye

I have always had an interest in exercise and wellness, graduating with a Bachelor of Leisure Studies from Waikato University in 1996. I joined the NZ Police in 1998 working in Tokoroa, Motueka and Roturua. Following a 6 month stint in East Timor with the UN and NZ police, I became involved with NZ Red Cross and was very lucky to be deployed to Indonesia for 12 months in 2009, and then the Middle East/North Africa office for almost four years in 2010. I learned a LOT about myself, and how lucky we are to call little old NZ home. I spent plenty of time in countries not on the usual tourist destination map, and did plenty of running and biking in countries where I had to pinch myself to prove I was acutally out there, doing that.

In 2014 I returned home to complete an Ironman event in Wanaka, and very quickly learned the benefits of regular massage to complement my training and get me to the start line!!

In 2017 I made the leap into a complete change of career, and in 2018 I completed 2 years of study with a Diploma of Clinical Massage, from the NZ College of Massage.

There are currently no more Ironman events on the horizon, however I love mountain biking and running, getting out into the countryside for some hiking with my black labradorable Lotte, and have taken part in a few adventure races with a great group of friends.

I am registered with Massage New Zealand, and love continuing my learning, up-skilling, reading the latest research...and generally helping others feel better and have well-functioning bodies.

I look forward to meeting you!!
